My sister had this beautiful picture from her college years: her leaning against birch trees in Kherson. I used that picture as the basis for this portrait on art panel.
2016
I was very attracted to the image of angels around 2016-2017. This was somewhat of an experiment with the leftover paints on my desk and a spare canvas board.
2016
I was totally improvising on this one. Ended up gifting it away to a friend who really liked it.
2017
I painted this upon a request from a friend, and ended up keeping it.
I wasn't too happy with the painting at the time, but it has grown on me over the years. Ultimately, I'm glad I didn't throw it away.
2017
Another improv with leftover acrylics and a spare canvas. I was going through a lot around 2017 and 2018, and this was one of a few of my darker painting experiments reflecting that period of my life. I think I was looking for a way to offload all of my pain and fear somewhere. I did feel very lonely in general, and sadly ended up throwing away lots of my artworks from those two years, including this one.
2017
I remember painting this like it was yesterday, full of anxiety and hopelesness. I slapped acrylics angrily on a large piece of paper and used a palette knife to try and scratch it off cause I had no idea of what I wanted to paint. I left these scratch marks as is, and hold this painting near and dear to my heart to this day.
2018
A weird fantasy figure from pandemic lockdown times.
2020
Went to Painting with a Twist with my dear friend. It was "Paint your pet" event, and all the funds went to support local pet shelters. I am glad I got to paint Gil - he passed away unexpectedly in January 2025. This painting hangs in my studio next to my desk, and serves as comfort and a reminder of how cute and sweet of a boy Gil was.
2023
Another Painting with a Twist "Paint your Pet" event. This time I decided to paint one of my cats, Yuuka. I figured that Sasha can wait since I already painted her many times before.
2025
This was one of the three paintings I created for a fundraising event at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church. It was held in June of 2025, and was so much fun that we plan to host another one in 2026.
Hammond.
2025
This was a second painting sample on offer for the fundraising event at Grace Memorial. Quite a few people from All Saints came to paint for it, and got to bring a nice little hand-made church painting home with them.
2025
I am personally very proud of how close to the original building my painting turned out to be. With this one I did something I've not done before: I did an underpainting first to block out all major shapes and make sure the overall composition looked good. It paid off!
